EMDR

EMDR therapy is an interactive, phased technique that effectively treats emotional distress caused by difficult life experiences, trauma and PTSD, as well as unresolved anxiety, depression, guilt, or anger. 

Studies have shown that the mind can heal from trauma much like the body heals from physical injury. EMDR is a safe and concentrated approach that activates your natural healing process. During a series of sessions, you will focus briefly on a disturbing experience, for example, while the therapist directs your eye movements. This activity momentarily diverts your attention from the stressful situation, allowing you to release the negative emotion and consider the situation from a different perspective. Over time, you’ll find that painful memories and thoughts have much less influence on you and less impact on your mental health.
